Robert K. Cowan, Jr., M.D.


Dr. Robert K. Cowan, Jr. is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston where he was honored as the Junior Medical Student of the Year. He competed his internship and residency training at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. Dr. Cowan continued his surgical training at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital in New York City, New York, and M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.

Dr. Cowan is Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Currently, he is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Kinesiology and Health Education at the University of Texas at Austin along with serving as Faculty Instructor at Brackenridge Hospital. Dr. Cowan is a member of the American Medical Association, Texas Medical Association, American College of Obstetricians/Gynecologists, Travis County Medical Society, and American Urogynecologic Society.

Dr. Cowan has numerous publications to his credit. He also serves on the advisory committee for the College of Natural Sciences at the University of Texas at Austin.
